Peterborough Utilities Group earns E&USA Gold Award for Commitment to Safety
Peterborough Utilities Group has reached another milestone in our efforts to continually improve our Safety Program.
Peterborough Utilities Group reached 1 Million hours without a lost time injury!
Dr. Ted Vandevis, President & CEO of the Electricity Utilities Safety Association (EUSA) and Mr. Patrick Dillon, from the Board of Directors of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) visited Peterborough today to help the Peterborough Utilities Group (PUG) celebrate reaching the plateau of 1 Million work hours without a lost time injury. PUG’s last lost time injury occurred in February 2006 – over three and a half years ago. Dr. Vandevis presented the Peterborough Utilities Group with EUSA’s President’s Award for their achievement.
Larry Doran, President & CEO of Peterborough Utilities Group, stated “that this achievement is the ultimate in team results because it could only have been achieved by everyone at PUG not only working safety but also looking out for the safety of their fellow workers. At PUG we truly believe that all workplace accidents and injuries are unacceptable and preventable.”
Dr. Vandevis pointed out that EUSA has nearly one thousand member firms but only about a dozen of its members have ever reached the one million hour plateau.
