New Electric Services and Changes to Existing Electric Services

Residential

To obtain a new residential service or an upgrade to an existing residential service contact the Electric Department Administrative Assistant and request a “Service Layout”.  This Service Layout will establish where the connection to the distribution system will take place and any conditions or costs that may apply.

The following information will be required:
  • Applicant/Electrician's name, address, email, cell and fax numbers
  • Municipal service address and lot number (for new subdivisions)
  • Service amperage size and voltage (120/240 V, 120/208 V)
  • Service type (Overhead, Underground)

Commercial/Industrial

To obtain a new commercial/industrial service or an upgrade to an existing service it is recommended that the Engineering Department be contacted to discuss existing conditions of service, capacity availability and scheduling.  There is no charge for this initial consultation.

If the customer wishes to proceed with detailed design an Electric New Service Request or Electric Service Change Request should be completed and submitted with the Load Summary Form and the Deposit Cheque to the Engineering Department, Attn: Distribution Engineer to start the design process.
