Special Events
Special events are a big part of what makes us who we are!
March Break Passport Program
If you didn't already need an excuse to bring the kids to the zoo during March Break, be sure to join us on Thursday, March 14, when we'll be offering a special March Break Passport Program.
After 10:00 a.m., stop by Guest Services to pick up your passport. Complete the handout by exploring the grounds, making observations, and reading all about the animals at our various Education Stations set up throughout the zoo.
Turn in your completed passport to Guest Services by 2:00 p.m. that day and be entered into a random draw for a special Riverview Park & Zoo Gift Shop prize!
Summer Sunday Concerts in the Park
Every other Sunday afternoon from Victoria Day weekend until Labour Day, the park fills with the sounds of music in the Gazebo Park from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with our Summer Sunday Concert series.
Bring your lawn chair and join us at the Gazebo to listen to fabulous local bands playing a variety of music genres.
13th Annual Fun Run and Walk Fundraiser
Bring the family out to Riverview Park and Zoo on Saturday, June 29 and participate in a 1K or 5K run/walk that loops throughout the grounds! This year, fundraising efforts will help support improvements to our aviaries exhibits, such as our emu, peafowl, wild turkey and guineafowl bird species.
Medals will be provided to all participants, with awards in both the 1K and 5K categories, and additional prizes for the top three fundraisers.
Discounted pricing available prior to June 1, and afterward registration is $35 per person. For all the details, visit riverviewparkzoofunrunandwalk.itsyourrace.com
(*NEW THIS YEAR, the race is part of the Runner's Life Run Series and participation will be capped at 500 people.)
