Helping Amphibians

There is a world amphibian crisis! Zoos and aquariums around the world have banded together to mount a rescue program for these endagered animals.

Amphibians worldwide are being heavily impacted by pollution and disappearing habitat. But the most dangerous threat to amphibians is a killer chytrid fungus that has spread to every continent. It is predicted that one third of the world's amphibian species will cease to exist in our lifetime.

Riverview Park and Zoo is participating in an international effort to provide public awareness education, program fund raising, and “assurance” populations in zoos and aquariums in an attempt to save as many amphibian species as possible.
