Jim Craig Receives Water Industry Award
Jim Craig, past Water Utility Director for the Peterborough Utilities Commission, received the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) prestigious Abel Wolman Award of Excellence recognizing those whose careers in the water works industry exemplify vision, creativity, and excellent professional performance characteristic of Abel Wolman's long and productive career.
Jim commenced employment with The PUC in 1974 as the Waterworks Engineer. He was promoted to Operations Manager in 1982 and held the position of Water Utility Director from 1989 to 1999, when he retired. Jim served as the Chair of the Ontario Water Works Association (1984), AWWA Director from 1985 to 1988 and received the highest OWWA award, the Fuller Award, in 1988.
Jim was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the PUC as one of the leaders in the drinking water industry throughout Ontario. We are all very proud of Jim and congratulate him on receiving this top honour to recognize his career as a leader in the drinking water profession.
