Wind storm reported to OEB as a major event
We have reported the outages caused by the November 1, 2019 windstorm to the Ontario Energy Board as a Major Event. This storm was considered a Major Event because of wind gusts up to 84 km/h that brought down several trees onto our lines. The repairs from this event took longer than usual to repair and affected a substantial number of customers.
Defining the outages associated with this storm as a Major Event allows us to normalize our reliability data. This data can then be analyzed in order to target specific projects to improve our reliability performance.
