History

Since 1914, the Peterborough Utilities Group has provided the City of Peterborough with safe and reliable electricity and water. In 2000, Peterborough Utilities Inc. (PUI) was formed to build, own and operate power generation plants and manage energy services.

Our story

Starting with a single power plant, PUI is now one of the largest municipally owned producers of green power in Ontario. We own and operate more than 25 power plants that supply about 15,500 homes with electricity. We use clean, renewable power sources, such as:

• biogas
• waterpower
